Shakira was in fierce mama bear mode at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 12. She walked the red carpet with her two sons as her dates, and all three wore stunning Versace outfits.

Her sons, Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, who she shares with ex Gerard Piqué also wore Versace. The brothers were twinning in black-and-gold tracksuits, featuring a baroque pattern and the Versace logo in gold. Matching Versace tennis shoes completed the cool look.

She Thanked Her Sons

During her acceptance speech, she thanked many special people in her life, including her sons.
“Thank you for being such a big part of my career. Since I was only 18 years old,” she began, in part, per Today. “I want to thank my parents. I want to thank my kids, Milan and Sasha, who are here. Thank you so much for cheering me up and for making me feel that mama can do it all.”

Shakira Shares Her Dreams for Her Sons

“I dream … that they can become completely happy, and that they can one day enjoy a family which we could not offer them, and that they can become free but good men,” she said. “Happy, but careful with others. May they take care of their future families with courage and honesty … [and] have values and a purpose in life that transcends beyond themselves.”
With their mom as a role model, they’re sure to reach these goals!
