I may be late to the party, but I now know why one highlighter in particular — Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty Wand in Pinkgasm — has been sold out for months, is a favorite among influencers like Madison Beer, and has garnered a wait list of more than 50,000 people. But the wait for the product's grand return is nearing its end because it'll finally be available for purchase to wait list subscribers, brand partners, and members of the brand's Superstar program beginning Tuesday, October 26. Not to worry if you don't fall under any of these categories; it will also be open for purchase amongst all customers beginning Thursday, October 28.

Before getting my hands on this highlighter adored by so many, I thought a highlighter this popular would emit a glow that could be seen for miles. I'm talking from Midtown Manhattan to the Northern New Jersey suburbs (translation for all our non-tri-state area readers out there: super freaking far). However, Pinkgasm did anything but give the bright, neon lights of Times Square a run for their money.

In fact, this highlighter did the opposite. But don't get me wrong — it was even better than what I originally thought. Los Angeles-based makeup artist Robin Black's philosophy on highlighters pretty much summarizes how this beauty wand worked its magic on my face. "It has the added benefit of giving a dewy, fresh look to the skin and can help makeup look less makeup-y," she previously told Allure.

Due to the hype surrounding this product, I was anxious to get this highlighter on my face. Once the moment of truth came — that is, after buffing out the rosy-pink liquid formula with my Real Techniques Expert Face Makeup Brush — the pink pigment seemed to have disappeared… but not entirely. What remained was a very subtle hint of pink and some barely-even-there sparkles smattered on the high points of my cheeks and the bottom corners of my forehead.  I'm not really partial to base products with a vibrant color payoff and lots of sheen, so I was glad that this product didn't look as intense as it did straight out of the tube.

Contrary to its light-catching pink tube, this highlighter doesn't exactly scream blinded-by-the-city-lights glam; its subtlety makes it more suitable for everyday wear. Even though its radiance may not compare to the brightness of the sun's rays, you'll definitely notice a difference in your complexion's luminosity if you go without it. This highlighter's pink-meets-red hue also doubles as a blush for light and medium skin tones, and if you're always in a rush like me, you'll appreciate this product's multitasking abilities when time is of the essence.
