So, just how does Kate stay in such great shape, anyway? For starters, she works out three to four times a week. Her trainer, Nicole Stuart, has helped Kate sculpt her bod for almost two decades—”I’ve known her since I was 19 years old,” Kate says. Together, the pair usually turn to Pilates workouts that include strength and cardio, per Women’s Health.
Kate tells WH Pilates is her fave because it’s always a challenge. “I know I’m at my strongest is when I’m doing my Pilates because it never gets easier. The more you do Pilates the harder the things you can do become,” she says. “I love how flexible I feel and I like what it does to the shape of my body.”
When she’s not toning muscle, Kate also likes to sneak in some cardio. “I like to do any kind of dance workout,” she explains. Stuart adds that “I think cardio is really important, not necessarily running a long distance, but doing something that will get your heart rate up, which is why we love dance.” Cardio without a treadmill? You love to see it.
Kate cycles and runs in her spare time, too. “I have the Peloton Tread, I just got it and I love Peloton,” Kate says. “I think they make it so easy to have ‘no excuse’ workouts. [I can spend] 10 minutes doing a little mile run instead of just sitting there doing nothing.”
Her other fave exercise helper is The Mirror, a virtual gym with almost every kind of workout. She’s even posted her Mirror workouts on her Instagram Stories, from an at-home barre session to a strength training circuit.
Basically, if it makes you sweat, it’s probably in Kate’s workout routine somewhere. “You name it—we always try new things,” Stuart tells WH. So here for it!
