Ever since temporarily losing her hair during chemotherapy treatment for multiple sclerosis, Selma Blair has been absolutely killing it in the short-hairstyle department. As it has grown out, she's worn a gray buzz cut, as well as a dyed-at-home dark brown pixie. And now, it seems Blair has reached what some may call the dreaded bowl-cut phase — but we call it the dreamy bowl-cut phase.
On Wednesday, November 19, Blair posted a trio of photos on her Instagram grid in which she's seen with a beautifully blunt, shaggy bowl style. It's the third slide of the carousel that really shows off how the thick, eyebrow-covering bangs appear to be about the same length as the rest of her short haircut — the key element of any self-respecting bowl cut. And the first picture shows that Blair can style it in other cool ways, like gathering the bangs toward the center of her forehead for a more voluminous, messy, almost Elvis-like rockabilly look.
The caption of the photos doesn't address her latest hair look, but rather the chic, matching, blue Alice & Olivia tie-dye set she's wearing — and for good reason: “Cool and casual for a cause. In my Malibu Jogger set from @aliceandolivia who is partnering with incredible charities," she writes. "This set supports @racetoerasems, Race to Erase MS is dedicated to the treatment and cure of Multiple Sclerosis. Funding research is the core focus of the Foundation while increasing awareness through education. Shop to support ❤️ #CasualForACause."
Blair isn't the only celebrity who has made us seriously consider a bowl cut. Last year, Charlize Theron debuted the single-length look, and we were floored by how cool it was. And like Blair, she styled it in various ways that revealed just how versatile the cut can be.
Clearly, bowl cuts are not just for second-grade school pictures anymore.
